Pasture, Rangeland, Forage and Apiculture Rainfall Index Coverage (PRF/API-RI) protects farms against widespread losses in hay and grazing crop production due to insufficient rainfall in their geographical grid (Approximately 17 miles x 17 miles).

• Farmers can elect to cover any number of acres (or colonies for Apiculture) they deem most important to production.  ​

• Farmers select their productivity factor, coverage level, and at least two, 2-month intervals where the farmer believes precipitation is most important to their operation.

• Indemnities will be awarded when the farmer's grid is deemed to have received below-normal rainfall as calculated by the NOAA.
